I invoke [God(s)/Goddess(es)/Spirit/

Universe/my higher self/etc.].

You who are the provender of all spirits

and the source of all communion.

Thank you for aiding spirit

communication and protecting me now.

With harm to none, and for the

highest good of all. So may it be.

In return, I offer you [Love, willingness to spread the communicated message, etc.]

Blessed be.

Step 4) Invoke using Alexandra Chauran’s invocation chant.

Alexandra, word doctor, witch:

Close my eyes and count to three.

Conjure spirit where I sit

that magic and a future see.

Blessed be.

Step 5) If you decided to use a talking board or spirit board, now is the time. Otherwise, sit in meditation to receive messages. Thank the spirit when you are done.

Step 6) Write down any messages that come through.

Step 7) After spirit communication, cense the area again to cleanse the space. You might visualize the energy disappearing, fading, being destroyed or withdrawn.

Step 8) Ground yourself, and leave the offerings outdoors.

Things to Consider

Choose a form of divination and learn how to use it to read for spirit communications.

Prepare to teach another person a form of divination, even if it is something as simple as a yes/no stone. Think about how you will explain what divination means to you and how to use it for spirit communication.

When is the best time for you to perform spirit communication? Think about how you can fit it into your life and your busy schedule. How can you build regular spirit communication into your calendar right now?

Write out a step-by-step plan for communicating with your spirit, as I did with my example in this chapter. Consider showing it to somebody else to see if it makes sense. Edit it if they have questions to make sure it is clear.

Plan a séance! Who will you invite? What is the best day and time? How do you think the people you know will react? What can you do to make the experience both comfortable and fun?
